A Mexican Marisc-o-makase with Simon Seafood
If you live in LA you should probably know the definition of the world "chingon."
Though it has no direct translation, the concept is used in colloquial or Mexican slang to describe or express something extremely astonishing, badass or extraordinarily cool (EXAMPLE: SIMON SEAFOOD)
HOW TO USE CHINGON (cheeng-gohn) IN A SENTENCE
Woah! That soft-shell crab taco from Simon Seafood was chingon!
Simon Seafood is so chingon even the LA Times called them “LA’s next taco sensation”
Did you hear Simon Seafood’s popping up at Il Caffe on October 14th? Chingon!
Lesson complete, you’ve unlocked the invite:
On Saturday October 14th, the fine-dining level seafood restaurant run out of a Frida Kahlo Blue food truck will pull up to Il Caffe in DTLA for a dealer’s choice meal of Mexican Mariscos right on Broadway and 9th in the historic DTLA district. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE AND WILL LIKELY NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.
What will Oaxacan Chef Francisco Aguilar prepare, you ask? Whatever the F*$% he wants! One thing we know for certain: IT WILL BE CHINGON.
Expect some combination of tacos, tostadas, tetelas, moletes, and aguichiles + a stellar natural wine program by Il Caffe.
Dining restrictions will be accommodated (please specify in advance). If you don’t eat seafood this one probably isn’t for you :)
