Paradise Found: A NEW SCHOOL Pimento Cheese Breakfast Sando by Calabama and Chef Eric Greenspan
Two LA food legends meet at Surfas "chef’s paradise” to riff on a melt-in-your-mouth Southern inspired breakfast sando with flavor as big as its personality.
THE CHEFS
Chef Cara Haltiwagner of Calabama may have retired the iconic little red bucket drop but rest assured, her Southern inspired breakfast sandos are still on the move. For her ground-level debut, Calabama teams up with Chef Eric Greenspan, acclaimed grilled cheese master and TV personality for a bona fide breakfast pop up oozing with NEW SCHOOL American Cheese and a sunny Saturday vibe.
THE SPOT
From a Hollywood fire escape to LA’s culinary haven. Surfas Culinary District has been selling premium specialty foods and kitchenware since they started their business in an abandoned LA garage in 1937. Over 80 years later, the family owned and operated culinary hub continues to be LA’s beloved stomping grounds for home cooks and chefs across the city.
