ABOUT LA MESMA

La Mesma is a family business meticulously run by the three Rosina sisters: Paola, Francesca and Anna. La Mesma is an organic certified winery. We believe that a great wine comes from great fruit. And that great fruit can be obtained with gentle, hands-on farming practices. We never use weed-killers or chemical fertilizers. We want our vines to live a long, healthy life, therefore we use the soft pruning technique, and controlled grass treatments. The Gavi area is rich in biodiversity, with woods surrounding our vineyards and lots of insects and wild animals free to roam: healthy vines in a healthy environment. La Mesma employs clean power provided by solar panels.

ABOUT OLEK BONDONIO

Saying Barbaresco is in Olek Bondonio’s blood wouldn’t be too far from the truth. His ancestors have been in the Barbaresco area for centuries and were instrumental in the creation of the Barbaresco region itself. In 1894, Olek’s great-great-great grandfather, Guglielmo Como, was one of the founding members of the Barbaresco Cantina Sociale, better known today as Produttori del Barbaresco. La Berchialla, which has been in his family’s hands for over 200 years. He spent time in Bordeaux, Australia, and New Zealand, before returning to take over La Berchialla and his family’s 3 hectares of old vines in Barbaresco.
