SUNS OUT, BIBS OUT.

We’re throwing a Summer Seafood Boil and it’s gonna be bonkers. Why, you ask?

1. SEAFOOD BOILS ARE THE HOLY GRAIL OF COMMUNAL DINING EXPERIENCES

Flavorful, celebratory, interactive, and deliciously messy. In Bridgetown fashion, this one’s got a West Indian twist. Here's what you'll find in Rashida's Curry Cajan Seafood Boil:

Clams
Peel and eat shrimp
Snow crab
Fried shrimp heads
Moo's Craft BBQ szechwan andouille sausage
Thyme & scotch bonnet butter sauce
Jerk smashed cucumber salad
Casa Vega Mexican corn on the cob
Spiced tamarind watermelon with mint & basil
2. RASHIDA HOLMES IS THE SH*%!

James Beard Nominee for Emerging Chef 2023 for obvious reasons. Her Carribean food pop-up, Bridgetown Roti, has been all over The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Bon Appetit, and The Wall Street Journal. In 2021 Bridgetown Roti was named Eater’s Best New Restaurant in Los Angeles, and Pop-up of the Year by Esquire magazine. All of that to say, you’ll want to catch this one while you can...

3. CASA VEGA IS A VIBE (AND HAS BEEN FOR 65 YEARS)

One of the longest continuously family-owned restaurants in all of greater Los Angeles. Casa Vega’s roots go back to famous Olvera Street in downtown. Rafael “Ray” Vega opened Casa Vega in 1956 after being inspired by the success of his parents’ earlier restaurant, Café Caliente on Olvera Street in the 1930s. To this day, Casa Vega serves authentic Mexican food and drinks in a festive and cozy old school atmosphere. For this event they'll be serving up corn on the cob and running a Casa Vega bar of signature cocktails made with Pink Pig Tequila.

4. EAT CRAB, SUPPORT YOUR FAVORITE WOMEN LED FOOD BUSINESSES

10% of the proceeds go to RE:Her, a non-profit founded in 2020 by nine female restaurateurs in Los Angeles as a response to the devastating impact of covid-19 on the restaurant industry and its disproportionate effects on women-owned businesses. Today, the national RE:Her movement facilitates more equity, inclusion, well-being, and resource accessibility within the hospitality industry by leveraging our common need for food, connection, and uplifting experiences (i.e. seafood boils).
