This Valentine’s Day, world renown baker Jordan Rondel— aka THE CAKER— invites you and your valentine to experience a journey through kodō.

Nestled in the heart of the LA Arts District in a century-old firehouse, kodō hotel is LA’s first masterfully designed ryokan that serves as a sanctuary for spiritual and sensory renewal. The hotel name “kodō,” which means “heartbeat” in Japanese, encapsulates the essence of vitality and cultural fusion.
On February 14th, The Caker herself will guide you through a private, interactive cake tasting throughout the kodō property. The 45 minute experience will usher you through the space to experience the different worlds of kodō over cake and a paired beverage to sip on.

Jordan Rondel created The Caker (@thecaker) in New Zealand in 2010 as a made-to-order cake business. She has since grown The Caker into an international cake brand with 2 bakeries, 5 published recipe books, a line of luxury cake kits and a cult following for her unique recipes and signature baking style.

MADRE MEZCAL
Madre is a certified artisanal mezcal from Mexico, hand-made in the hills of Oaxaca. Crafted in open-air palenques using only agaves roasting in an earthen oven, water from local aquifers and fermented with airborne yeast. Madre reflects the essence of the art in its purest form.
