Alto Cafe: A Food & Drink Exhibition
On the afternoon of Sunday August 30th, Estellar Coffee joins ALTO to transform the space into an interactive exhibition designed around South American flavors, coffee, and the many, many, people it takes before it lands on your table.
You'll move freely through a series of installations, each built around a different beverage and bite, but not just any. Estellar approaches coffee like a cocktail: thoughtful, layered, balanced, and made to be sipped and savored. ALTO pairs each drink with a dish inspired by the Río de la Plata.
Between tastings, photography brings the people and places behind these ingredients into focus - the growers, cooks, makers, and traditions that give them meaning.
Come wander, taste, and watch two brilliant women turn the things they care most about into an really special experience.
Juana Castellanos | ALTO co-founder & creative director
Born and raised in Uruguay, Juana Castellanos is the co-founder and director of ALTO, where she creates experiences that celebrate the culture of the Río de la Plata through hospitality, storytelling, and food. After training in world-renowned kitchens, including Mugaritz, she developed a philosophy that meaningful dining experiences are created not only by what's served on the plate, but by how people are welcomed, connected, and cared for. At ALTO, Juana brings the traditions of her culture to life through contemporary open-fire concept, intentional hospitality, and immersive experiences designed to honor the warmth, rituals, and spirit of her culture.
Alejandra Jaimes | Estellar, Founder
Alejandra is a first-generation Colombian American whose career began in finance and later expanded into her passions for Colombian coffee and social impact. After growing up visiting family in Colombia, a 2019 trip to her first coffee farm deepened her connection to her heritage and sparked a curiosity about the sensory world of coffee. She later became a certified Q Grader, joining a select group of professionals trained to formally evaluate coffee’s sensory qualities.
Through Estellar, she brings together culture, storytelling, sensory exploration, thoughtful pairings, and hospitality. She hopes to show people that coffee can be more than a beverage - it can be a lens through which to explore flavor and origin, connect with communities, and bring people together.
