A CUSTOM BOWL AND DINNER TO GO WITH IT. 

Danny D and Woon invite you into the studio to experience the perfect bowl up close before you take it home. 

Somm-turned-ceramicist Daniel Dooreck started his studio, Danny D’s Mud Shop, out of a garage in Echo Park. Now based in East Hollywood, next door to Saffy’s, the shop makes hand-thrown, carved and painted pieces that you’ll spot at some of LA’s most beloved restaurants like Ggiata, Ètra, Woon, etc. You’ll know em when you see em. 

Over the next few months, Danny invites friends of the shop who happen to be some of LA’s best cooks and bakers to spin a one-off vessel, then craft the dish it was made to hold. 

First up...  

WOON 

Inspired by Keegan's mother, “Mama Fong,” whose Shanghainese and Cantonese dishes were the centerpiece of every gathering, Keegan started Woon with family pop-ups across LA. Today, Woon has brick-and-mortar spots in Historic Filipinotown and Pasadena, serving the stir-fried noodles, scallion pancakes, and five spice chicken wings that started it all.
