Spaghettata: A Spaghetti Event at Da Prato
Da Prato throws a Spaghettata.
If you haven't experienced this Tuscan chef's quiet but potent landing in LA, this is the night. Large, overflowing pots of pasta straight on the table, inspired by the late-night gatherings Elisa Da Prato used to host in New York.
"Spaghettata" literally translates to "spaghetti event," but the meaning is a little broader than that. It's what happens when everyone lands at someone's house after a night out. Someone opens another bottle. Nobody is ready to leave. A giant pot of pasta appears and everyone gathers around.
Consider this the "someone's house."
The centerpiece is a sauce made from hand-selected market tomatoes, slow roasted with garlic, Calabrian chile, citrus, and soft herbs, bound with white wine and served over Pastificio Monograno Felicetti, then finished with mounds of market basil, marigolds, and Parmigiano.
Ticket includes a welcome crostini, bottomless Spaghetti Pomodoro, and almond cookies and chocolate bark for dessert. Wine and other beverages available for purchase on site. Elisa's wine list is an expert snapshot of what's happening in Italian natural wine right now.
