Just when you thought you knew everything about the LA food scene… 

Lien Ta brings a long-cooked idea to life: a trivia night at her Silver Lake neighborhood restaurant (inspired by the ritual in local towns around the country)— but all the questions, written by Lien, would center food and illuminate the vibrant and rich LA restaurant scene.

Each week, she'd invite a meaningful Angeleno (and food buff) to guest co-host. Past co-hosts include actors, writers, radio hosts, comedians and chefs like: Kiernan Shipka, David Greene, Zack Bornstein, Jenn Harris, Courtney Storer, Dana Schwartz and Valerie Gordon. 

On October 25th, Lien invites comedian / food-and-wino Karl Hess into the rink for a food trivia moment designed for the real deal LA food-heads. 

Come flex your culinary proficiency over All Day Baby snacks (ordered a la carte), natural wine pairing (included), and a damn good show by this dynamic duo.

LIEN TA
Lien Ta is the co-owner of two LA restaurants with Chef Jonathan Whitener, Here's Looking At You and All Day Baby. She is the subject of "Becoming a Restaurateur" by author Patric Kuh, and she appeared at the 2020 Democratic National Convention, giving voice to America’s small business owners persevering amid the Covid pandemic. After 17 dormant months and one incredible GoFundMe campaign, HLAY reopened its doors and was listed on "The NY Times 2022 Restaurant List" and named a 2023 James Beard semifinalist for "Outstanding Hospitality." In 2022, All Day Baby was recognized as a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant. In 2020, Lien co-founded Regarding Her, a non-profit organization devoted to the advancement and empowerment of women restaurateurs, and to date, RE:Her has awarded $350,000 in
grants. At the 2021 James Beard Foundation’s live broadcast, RE:Her was highlighted as a “Story of Resilience and Leadership.” 

KARL HESS
Karl Hess is a stand-up comedian, food commentator, host, writer and co-creator of food podcast Yelling About Pâté, as well as Amuse Bouche, a comedy/food/wine pop-up party that LA Mag rightfully describes as “a ridiculous amount of fun.” Karl is committed to tacos and spreading porron awareness.
